I bought some buckwheat kasha from a bulk dispenser at a store, so it didn't come in a package. The directions on the dispenser said to cook it in twice as much water (1/2 cup kasha in 1 cup water).

That sounded like the same as rice, and I usually use 2 1/2 times as much water for that, so I did that with the kasha and it still doesn't seem like enough. It's just really dense in texture (soft enough, though).

And it doesn't taste very good. Bleeaahhhh.

Any tips for making this and adding something to it? I put in a touch of butter and salt and can't taste either one. Don't want toload it down with these, either.
